What is a Cantilever Gate System?
Share
A cantilever sliding gate is a type of sliding gate that is supported from one end as it slides open and closed. Unlike traditional sliding gates that are supported by a track on the ground, cantilever gates are designed to be suspended over the gate opening without the need for a track on the ground.
The main components involved include two sets of nine roller carriages fixed onto a concrete foundation and a C-profile steel track secured along the entire length of the gate's bottom frame. The carriages move seamlessly within the C-profile track, ensuring smooth rolling of the gate.
This design offers several advantages, such as smooth and quiet operation, reduced maintenance, and the ability to span uneven or sloping terrain without the need for a track.
- No Ground Track: One of the main advantages of cantilever gates is that they do not require a track on the ground. This can be beneficial in situations where the ground is uneven or where debris could obstruct a traditional sliding gate track.
- Smooth Operation: Cantilever gates are known for their smooth and quiet operation. The absence of a ground track eliminates friction and reduces wear and tear on the gate components.
